Refund Policy
Effective: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Full refund within 7 days, under 10 hours used. You can do it yourself in Settings, without writing to anyone.
ScribeClear is sold by our online reseller Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle makes every refund, to the payment method you used.
1. Refund yourself after your first payment
You get a full refund from Settings, straight away, if all of these are true:
- it's within 7 days of your first payment for a plan;
- under 10 hours of audio has been transcribed in your workspace since you paid (files that used your free transcriptions don't count);
- you haven't had this self-serve refund before.
"Before" is checked by your email address, your card and your device. If any of them matches an earlier self-serve refund, Settings can't do it automatically. Ask support instead, and a person will decide (section 3). Because different people can occasionally share a card or a device, a match is never a final "no".
2. Refund a renewal you didn't use
Forgot to cancel? You get a full refund of a renewal from Settings if:
- it's within 7 days of the renewal; and
- nothing has been transcribed in your workspace since it renewed.
We email you 7 days before every yearly renewal, so you have time to cancel first. You can turn on the same reminder for monthly renewals in Settings.
3. Everything else: ask support
If the rules above don't fit, ask for a refund from Settings or email support@scribeclear.com. A person reads every request and decides, taking into account what happened and how much the plan was used. We aim to reply within 1 business day.
4. What a refund covers, and what happens next
- A refund of your first payment covers everything charged since that payment, including extra seats.
- A refund of a renewal covers that renewal.
- Your paid plan stops at once and your workspace returns to Free. Your files stay. Files added on the paid plan that haven't been transcribed yet wait until you upgrade again.
- Paddle sends the money back to the payment method you used. Your bank may take a few days to show it.
5. Paddle's own refunds
Paddle may also give a refund at its own discretion if you ask it within 14 days of a payment or renewal. See Paddle's refund policy. You can contact Paddle through the link in your receipt or at paddle.net.
6. Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy takes away a right to cancel or get your money back that the law gives you. Where the law gives you more than this policy, the law applies.
If you live in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland or the UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. ScribeClear starts working the moment you pay, so Paddle's checkout asks for your consent to start straight away, and asks you to confirm you understand this affects your right to withdraw. The exact effect depends on the law where you live. To withdraw, use the link in your Paddle receipt or paddle.net, or write to us.
In some countries the law also gives you a new chance to cancel after an automatic renewal. Where it does, that right applies even if section 2 would say no.
7. Cancelling is not the same as a refund
You can cancel any time in Settings, in two clicks, and we confirm by email. Cancelling stops future renewals. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. Unless sections 1 to 6 apply, we don't refund the unused part of a period.
Deleting your account stops your plan at once, with no refund for the rest of the period. If you're still within a refund window, ask for the refund before you delete your account.
8. Please talk to us before disputing a charge
If something's wrong with a charge, write to support@scribeclear.com first. We'll answer quickly, and a refund is faster than a dispute with your bank.
